On March 13, 1961, the SS Dominator, a liberty ship, ran aground in the fog. Fog can get pretty thick off the Palos Verdes Coast. I remember having to stick my head out of the drivers window and look for the white line in the road while driving home late at night way too often... The captain of the Dominator din't have any white lines to follow, he found some rocks instead.
